Open Gardens is back, with some new gardens, some favourites from previous years and some that have only opened once before. Each one has fantastic ideas to inspire your own green space, whether you like a traditional garden, a cottage garden or a place curated for wildlife. The event is intended to raise funds for charities, so please remember to bring some cash to donate to each garden that you visit!Simple-Map-Colour-Coded-OG-2025
A map showing the route will be on display on each of our Parish Noticeboards. Further updates will also be posted on our West Grinstead Parish Council Facebook page, so please follow us. There will be an Information Station outside the PG Village Hall on Saturday 21 June, from 11am to 4pm. Parking is free all day, and the toilets will be open. Drinks and cakes will be available from 2-4pm while the Repair Café is happening.
We have allotments at Bines Road and Jolesfield Common, which will be open to visitors, so come along and get some advice on growing your own fresh fruit and vegetables. There should hopefully be good displays of flowers along the High Street, on our Parish Council maintained spaces.
The Scarecrow Trail is planned for the same weekend, with Jolesfield School and our local nurseries helping to create some characters to display along the route. Please join in by making your own scarecrow, and display it somewhere prominent, for our younger residents to enjoy as they walk around the area.
There will be a Flower Festival at the Cornerstone Methodist Church Hall in the High Street, where they will be serving Strawberries and Tea on Saturday 21st June from 10.30 in the morning, until 3.30pm. The Hall will also be open from 2pm on the Sunday for the flower festival and tea. St Michael’s Church Pollinator garden will be open, with tea and cakes on both afternoons.
